One Room Challenge #4 - The Bedroom

I started putting this room together, and came to the realization that THIS is the bedroom I would totally put together for a teenager. Maybe specifically my teenager, if I'd chosen to have kids. The fun colors, the cozy furniture, the books, the plants, all very much what I would have enjoyed in my younger days if I'd been a bit more sophisticated - and hadn't grown up in the scary 1980's. 😆

I opted to show it at nighttime, just to see how it would photograph, and loved how warm and inviting it was, even in the dimness. I included some daytime images as well, to show the decor a little better. 

I can't say how many more of these I'll do. I'm not necessarily bored with them, as there's still a few ideas I want to play with, but I think we've at least reached the halfway point. The only problem is that I have no idea how to proceed once I finish this series. We'll have to see what I can come up with.

One Room Challenge #3 - The Dressing Room

I had a hankering to do something really girly, so I thought this time I'd try a Dressing Room/Walk-In Closet. This little confection of a room is all pretty things, positive messages, little trinkets, fancy chandeliers, cozy furniture, and of course it wouldn't be complete for me without a kitty. 

The space was a challenge...I knew I wanted a vanity, but couldn't figure out where to put it. Then I tried tucking it in-between the modular closet pieces, and voila! It fit like a charm. The dressers were a perfect fit under the windows, providing ample space for perfumes and jewelry boxes. The room is light, bright, and airy...the perfect place to have a glass of wine or a cocktail while you put on your makeup, and get ready for a night out.

My New House - The Rest of It

Finally we're here...the last post about my (not really so) new house. It's been a long journey to get here, and frankly this is probably not something I'll ever do again. This has been crazy! The house has actually been done for a while, but blogging it has been a chore. 

This last post will encompass the "Main Bathroom", the "Outside Laundry and Shower Area", and the decor on the "Back of the House". I'm not going to detail any of the landscaping stuff, because UGH, but if you have any questions about anything you see, as always, hit me up in the comments and I'll be happy to get any information you need. 

The Main Bath:

Bathrooms in some of these open houses can be a challenge. You don't want to completely close them off, but you do want some privacy, especially for the toilet area. No one wants to watch anyone poop. Well, maybe some people do, and I'm not one to kink shame, but in general. So I used some wall panels, and made a little nook for the toilet, and tried to use plants to provide some additional privacy.

Outside Shower and Laundry:

No Beach House is complete without an outdoor shower because who wants people dragging all that sand inside? I opted to add in a laundry area here as well, because you need somewhere to wash your towels and swimsuits, right? I covered it all with an awning, to protect against the rain AND the sun, and have a cabinet nearby, stocked with toiletries, towels, and laundry items.

The Back of House Decor

The front of this house is plain and imposing, and I left it that way BECAUSE it's not inviting, and to be honest, I dig that. Being on a sim with many parcels, you gotta do what you gotta do to keep people out of your private space. 

But, the back of the house, which faces the beach, is wide open, so of course I'd stock it with seating, plants, decor, and most importantly...a grill.

One Room Challenge #2 - The Music Room

The "new" house is finished, pictures of the Owner's Bath and outside areas are taken, but OMG the credits are a crazy snarl, and I just haven't had the mental bandwidth to untangle them. 

So instead I opted to do another room from my One Room Challenge. The first one was here, and the initial post explaining what's going on is here. 

This time, I had a hankering to do a music room. It seems to be a type of room you don't see in SL very often, so I thought it would be fun. I dug around in my inventory, swearing I had a grand piano to build the room around, only to remember that I had bought it for a friend. While LISP Bazaar is unfortunately no longer inworld, I thankfully managed to find it on the Marketplace. It's a gorgeous piece. And it actually plays music! 

I decided to make the room itself mint green. Why? Well...because I like the color. And everything lately seems to be grey, grey, grey, so I thought a pop of color would be fun. It's an accent color in one of the rugs (which are all grey - HAH!), and provides a neat contrast with the black and white of the rest of the furniture. 

Of the artwork, the opera textures on the posters were purchased on the Marketplace, but it was years ago, and they're no longer available that I can find. And every musician should have a world map to track where they've been on tour.
