Creator Showcase - Fancy Decor

So, there's no Weekend Haul this week...I spent my weekly allowance on things for my avatar for a portrait picture, and didn't really have anything left to spend on weekend sales. Sorry! So instead, I decided to do something I'd been wanting to do for a while, and feature one of my favorite creators. 

So for this post, we're concentrating on Fancy Decor. I decided to rez a skybox from Ambice, and see if I could rustle up a couple of rooms using nothing but FD items in my inventory, and the pictures below are the result. Now, this isn't all of my FD items...not by a long shot. And the only thing in the room that was from another creator was the TV set, but I'll link that in the credits, as it's pretty cool. 

I LOVE Fancy Decor. Jake Vordun has put together a collection of amazing furniture, art, and decor, and when I'm looking for something in particular, FD is usually the first place I'll check. There are a number of styles to choose from...modern, vintage, classic, you name it. His attention to detail is unsurpassed, and now that he's expanding into PBR items, I know things are only going to get better. And I need to buy more of his plants, as I only have a couple, and I'm a sucker for plants.

Weekend Haul! 8/2/25

Hi Duckies! Back for another installment to show off my weekend sale haul. I know weekend sales are going through a bit of backlash and angst, but I'm not really wanting to go too deeply into that. I know that through these sales I have found a lot of new stores that I hadn't heard of before, and that I keep in mind to check out for further items, on sale or regular price. If something is released on a weekend sale that I already bought for full price, I don't stress about it. I take advantage to maybe get additional colors that I couldn't decide upon and/or afford previously. 

I enjoy scanning through the sales on Seraphim, and use those to find the items that I'm blogging for this series, so I'm obviously going to keep doing so. If the sales go away, that's fine. I have a record here of things I've gotten in the past, and stores I'll want to keep shopping in the future. 

So without further ado, here we go!

First, we have the Ruffle Curtains (100 L$) and the Antique Wall Mirrors - Fatpack (150 L$) from Pitaya. Y'all. These are gorgeous. The curtains also come in sheers, but for this, the opaque photographed better, so I used them. They're frilly and lovely, and beautifully made. The PBR texturing gives them a silky sheen that's really lovely. And the mirrors are amazing! I've included a detail of one of them below. 

This is PBR done right. The subtle shine on the mirror frame, the slightly old and stippled texture on the mirror surface, and the way the light refracts off the mirror's bezel, it's all just *chef's kiss*. 

Next, I have The Boho Cabinet (75 L$) and The Boho Wingback Chair (99 L$) from Dreamland Designs. The cabinet is delightfully quirky. The pictures come with it, but are separate, so you can choose to use them or not. The cabinet comes with the decor shown, but it's all very cute, and it isn't very deep which makes it a great piece for an entryway or hallway, as it will provide a lot of visual interest, without taking up a lot of space. The wingback chair is fun and funky, and I included a detail picture below. 

I love the details with the tassels, the beading, the contrasting fabric on the chair and pillow, and even the little sag in the seat cushion that highlights the vintage feel. This is great chair for a bedroom or a reading nook. 

The Osaca Rectangular Rug and Osaca Round Rug (90 L$ each) come from The Design Firm Collection. I included a couple of pictures of these to show some of the 14 colors that come with the rugs. Just touch them, and a menu pops up that lets you choose the color that suits your decor. I love the carved design texture on these, that gives visual interest while keeping the rugs themselves fairly simple. They just look so cozy and velvety, don't they? I'll be using the heck out of these.

Lastly, but certainly not leastly, is the gorgeous Draped Crystals Kit (73 L$) from The Looking Glass. These deserve another...y'all. I mean really. Honestly anything from The Looking Glass is going to be amazing. And being that I love me some crystals, buying these was a no brainer. There are nine separate pieces, and they also have a touch menu that gives you nine different colors. I've put all nine pieces and colors in the photo above, and below are some closeups to show off how luminous these are. Put these in a window, and they will look fabulous.

Weekend Haul! 7/26/25

Howdy! Back for another weekend haul. Two weeks in a row! I didn't get as much this weekend...I was just sort of "Meh" about most things. And honestly, one of the things that I did get, I'm not so sure I'll keep, as I was a bit disappointed with it once I rezzed it. (I didn't see a demo of it at the store. If I had, I probably would have skipped it.) 

So, let's check it out!

These are all the items that I got! 

Espresso Shelf (Casual Pack) from Legna for 86 L$. This is a very cute shelving unit, with a HUD that lets you pick the color of the wood, and of the door fronts. There were two other color combos, but I went with the all woods pack, as I thought it would be the most versatile. 

Codty Rustic Wall Decor from Noxwood for 69 L$. This is the piece that I'm not so jazzed about. Mainly because there's no dimension to the pictures. It's basically an image slapped on a prim. But the pictures themselves are pretty, so I dunno...I might play with it, and see if I can "reframe" the pictures with some of the frames in my inventory, and make it look nicer. I certainly have enough of them to choose from. 

Fancy Fall Camellia Books and Objets and Fancy Fall Camellia Ceramic Mugs from Fancy Decor for 50 L$ each. I mean, c'mon. You put items out that are a collab between two of my favorite creators, Fancy Decor and Apple Fall, and you don't think I'm gonna snatch them up? They're gorgeous items, and so worth the price.

Weekend Haul! 7/19/25

Hi there! It's been a while (as usual). So, I'm trying something new that might be kind of fun. I'm scouring the weekend sales for decor items that pique my interest, and sharing them with you here!

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a cheap bitch, and I love a bargain. Back in the early days of my blogging, I had one entitled "SL Photography on a Budget", and I would spend HOURS scouring store sales, weekend sales (back then we had Fifty Linden Friday and not much else), and the Marketplace looking for inexpensive clothing/costumes, accessories, and props for my pictures. It was a lot of fun, and I loved putting it all together. 

So it should come as no surprise that I scour the (now many) weekend sales for items that tickle my fancy. As there are so many you'd think that I'd end up spending a fortune anyway, but honestly? I kinda don't. Mainly because I already have SO MUCH STUFF that it has to really be an insane deal, or something more unusual and fun for me to pick it up. (Or a kitchen set or bathroom set, because I'm addicted to them for some reason, and can never have too many.)

With out further ado, here is this weekend's haul.

First off is this cute living room set from Black Nest. All of this, for only 50 L$! Even nicer, the sofa and chairs have HUDs that allow you to change the wood and upholstery colors. That's something that's always a huge draw for me. Also, sets like this are great for mixing and matching with other items in your inventory.

Your Dreams is one place that has the MOST generous weekend sales. If I go there on a weekend and don't leave with at least one thing, it's rare. This great looking bathroom set was only 80 L$, and has different woods to choose from on the shower and vanity. One thing to note, is that the decor is built in on the toilet and the sink, so if that's not your thing, keep that in mind. 

This cute kitchen dining set is also from Your Dreams, and again, only 80 L$. As with the other set, the bench, chairs, and table all have HUDs that let you select your colors and wood tones. In this set the decor items are separate. I did a close up picture so that you could see how cute it all is. The only thing with these decor pieces is that they come out really large, so you'll have to do some editing. (It also comes with another table with the sides down, but I forgot to put it out for the picture.)

A girl can never have too many plants, so when I saw this grouping from Mithral for only 50 L$, I had to have it. It comes in four different tones...white, natural wood, silver, and black. This one is the silver. With this set, you can change the pot colors, and have a choice of white, blush (terracotta), or black. 

And lastly, this set of decor items from Fetch for only 79 L$. Each piece is separate, and really lovely. I mean, look at the texturing on that lamp! It's gorgeous.

Dudations Farhale House - Decorated

I decided to get to this post early in my time off because, well...I've bought a new skybox, so this house will be dismantled very soon. Yes, I have an addiction, and it's to buying houses and decorating. I don't wish to be cured, so no intervention will be necessary. 😆

I'm also going to be a TERRIBLE blogger, and not give you any credits for the pictures you are about to see because, well, see above. Of course as I always say, if you have any questions about anything, I am more than happy to help you out, and share information. I will walk you through the house though, commenting as I go, because I'm a dork.

So, on with the pictures! (And there are a lot of them.)

First off, we have the exterior shots. Here is the front elevation. Much more interesting once you you get some trees and nature around it. I did replace the palm trees on either side with smaller leafy trees to blend in a little better. 

Here is the side elevation with the other exterior door. I will say, this is one house that I did not change a single texture on it. I kept everything as is, which is rare for me. But the texturing is so nice, that I was very happy with it. I love the stone on the front, especially.

I also got a wild hair, and decided to take the flat roof of the house, and turn it into a mini-meadow for no reason other than I thought it would look cool, and I think it came out pretty charming. It's spring...who doesn't want more greenery, right?

One side of the front deck, with a grill and a dining area. With such a beautiful view of the water, I felt dining al fresco would be something you'd definitely want to do if you lived here. 

And the other side of the deck, set up for some relaxing "Me time". I thought the stone tub matched the stone on the front of house so nicely. Add in a couple of Adirondack chairs, and a telescope for star gazing, and you're all set for a cozy evening. 

Entering the sliding doors off the deck, we're now in the living area. It's a fairly narrow area, so I didn't want to clutter it with a lot of furniture, and block access to the stairs up to the kitchen area. So a sleek couch with a statement coffee table fit the bill. At the end you can see the built ins that I loved so much, and we'll see those closer in the next picture. 

I loved the picture nook (which holds a picture from an old SL friend), small cabinets to hold all my little treasures, and the bookshelves and drawers beneath. 

And this is a view of the other end. Where the chair is, is a fixed pane of glass, so I didn't have to worry about blocking access to the sliding doors out to the deck. It's also a great place to make a drink, read a book, cuddle a kitty, or listen to music. 

Here's a closer view of the built ins on this end of the room. I love how they helped pull the room together, and provide space for everything, without adding any extra clutter. 

Up the stairs, you come to the formal entryway, with a place to sit and take off your shoes, and hang your coat. 

And here's the galley kitchen. As I mentioned, the cabinets are color change, and I decided to go with the deeper turquoise shade for the back cabinets, as I love the color, especially being so near the water. And the kitchen island is a perfect area to finish up your cooking while visiting with friends.

And more direct frontal view, showing off the display shelves alongside the stove vent, and the kitchen as a whole. I did consider putting a railing up between the upper kitchen area, to keep from falling into the living room below, but then I decided on living dangerously. Plus, I couldn't find one I liked. As I mentioned in the other post, every room has it's own lighting that you can control from panels around the house. I like the lighting in the kitchen in particular, as it made for such an inviting space. (I don't know why this picture is canted left, but I can't fix it, so...oh well.)

 

Next, the bedroom. I love the clerestory windows, as it allows for light to come in, while still giving a lot of wall space for storage. I raised the bed up on a platform because with the tall ceilings I wanted it to be a little higher off the floor. 

And can you imagine how lovely it would be to wake up to this view every morning? Here you can see the venetian blinds that are available across all the front windows. Clicking them gives you, I believe, three different options in how unfurled they can be. All the way up, part way down, and all the way down. 

And finally, the bathroom. This is the view coming in from the bedroom. Along one side, I put all the bathroom fixtures...the shower, the sink, and the toilet. I used glass partitions to provide some privacy, as well as a planter to do the same. I have to admit, I fiddled with this space a lot, but finally liked the layout enough to call it a day. 

And this is the other side of the room. The door on the left goes to the bedroom, and the door on the right opens up to the kitchen. Because this room was so large, I was able to make it a multi-purpose space, and include the washer/dryer cabinet, and a vanity. I usually try to put my vanity in the bedroom, but this ended up filling up the space perfectly.

Surprisingly New to Me!

I'm back after yet ANOTHER break that wasn't all my choice. Yep, the laptop crapped out again. This time, every bluescreen gave me a different issue, and I realized that after a faithful seven years, it was time to get a new computer. A long wait later, and it finally came! It's so nice. 

So here I am, finally blogging again, and in this post I wanted to share a new to me builder! I was trolling the Marketplace, looking for the perfect little house. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but when I came across the entry for this house, I was intrigued enough that I TP'd to the inworld store to check it out. 

This is the "Farhale House" from Dudations by Dude Seda. It comes in three different versions. The Basic version which is the house without the kitchen or wall units/built ins, The Default version which contains the kitchen, and the Complete version which is shown below, which has the kitchen, the wall units/built ins, and landscaping in the garden boxes on the generously sized deck. 

The details are fantastic. The kitchen appliances are so realistic, the built ins are lovely. The house contains lighting that you can control from panels around the house, venetian blinds that you can click to give you some privacy, and the kitchen is color changeable. 

It's 20x25, so will fit on a smaller parcel, and the Complete version is only 74 LI. And one of my favorite things? The creator provides a floorplan demo, so that you can play with it, and figure out where on your parcel it will work best. (Other builders, take note! It's such a nice feature to provide!)

There are other homes to peruse as well, from small to medium cottages, outbuildings, and modern homes. I walked through all of them before deciding that Farhale house checked all the boxes for what I was looking for. It's the most expensive of his houses at 750 L$, but I believe it's worth every penny. I look forward to seeing future homes from Mr. Seda!

French Skybox - Kitchen/Dining, and the Bedroom.

I'm back after a break that wasn't all my choice. After a Windows 11 update, my laptop suddenly decided that it didn't like SL or any internet browser whatsoever. Since pretty much all I do is either on the internet or in SL, it was basically a paperweight. It took about three weeks of fiddling, a couple of formats, and a downgrade to Windows 10, but I was finally (mostly) back.

Then the holidays happened and I wasn't around much as I was busy baking and prepping, and when I did have time to futz around, I realized that I'd forgotten to back up my file that had my entire list of stores and their corresponding SLURLS, and the credits for this post. That sent me into a bit of a tailspin and I got so upset at the loss of all that work. 

So, you'll be getting this post with just pictures and very few credits, because this skybox has been disassembled, and I've set up house back on my land, and it's all gone. And I'm not crazy enough to scour the pictures to try and figure out credits for everything. So I'll have to start from scratch on my next post. I'll drop some names for the big pieces, but that's about it. Sorry! 

So first, we have the kitchen. The corner kitchen is from Brocante, the little repurposed door/coffee station is from Floorplan. The dining set is from Kraftwork, and the big hutch in the dining area is from What's Next. The gorgeous chandelier is from HEXtraordinary. 

When I started this kitchen way long ago, I opted to use a modular kitchen that let me design it from scratch. For this iteration, I thought an all-in-one apartment style corner kitchen was the way to go. This one is nice because you can choose the color of the oven and the refrigerator. 

For the dining area, I loved the round table for this space. It fit well, and even though the style is a little more modern, it had classic enough lines that it managed to blend in with the more classic style of the rest of the room. All in all, I thought it came out cute and cozy. 

For the bedroom, I went with a bed from Apple Fall, a pouf from Elm, side tables from Llorisen, chandelier from Half-Deer, and wardrobe/dresser from What Next. This was an odd space, and I had to really jimmy things around to make it work. Putting the bed on the diagonal gave access to the warmth of the fireplace, but still gave you a nice view of the Paris skyline outside. 

The double doors to the bathroom I fiddled with to make them sliding, so I had room for the wardrobe and dresser without having to worry about doors getting in the way. The room came out so feminine and warm, and just the place I could see snuggling into bed and enjoying the fire while reading myself to sleep. 

As I mentioned above, I've moved back down to the ground for spring. I found a cute house from a "New to Me" builder! I'll probably feature that down the road, as it has so many great features for being such a small house. I was also considering doing some designer features, and we'll see what else I can think of as I try to rebuild this damn blog.
